“The Scars of Suffering” All of us have scars. Some of us have physical scars, and some of us have emotional scars. But we all have them. And those scars represent suffering: a traumatic event, a loss, a betrayal, the list goes on and on. Romans 8:18-19 says, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” There‘s a link throughout the New Testament between present suffering and future glory. When we’re suffering, we can only see the suffering. We can’t see the glory yet because it hasn’t been revealed. But what if our suffering, and the scars from it, are exactly what God will use in profound ways to make us better writers and speakers?
